Editor's Verdict:

While Positives Dating didn't make it into our top two STD dating sites, third is not a bad position to reach on No1Reviews.com. This site does offer its users a clutch of good features, and a great, supporting service for HIV+ daters. We particularly loved the friendly and warm environment which we felt would encourage (often reluctant) HIV+ daters back to the dating market. With a host of great members, all looking for different types of relationship and companionship, membership to Positives Dating is certainly an attractive prospect. The price is less attractive, at almost $120 for a year's membership. There is a free membership option so that users can trial the site's features without having to commit to the subscription fee and we would certainly suggest all users give it a go before they sign up.

Positives Dating does have a range of features that would be useful for any dater. Of course, the site supports photo profiles, with each user permitted to include up to 25 photos of themselves in order to 'advertise' what you have on offer! While this is not particularly original (in fact not at all!) it is an essential feature, so it is worth mentioning. What is particularly good about Positives Dating is the intuitive search function which allows users to not only perform a standard search using a range of criteria, but also view a set of standard searchable lists including those who have recently viewed your profile, or those members who have indicated that they are 'interested in' your profile. We felt that these features were a great addition to a regular search function, as they are likely to throw up a number of helpful and useful results. Users can also keep a favorites list (either publically or privately viewable ) where they can keep track of their favorite members of Positives Dating. Users also have access to an internal email service to get in contact with other users, and the excellent 'soulmate' matching system, which works to connect site users on the basis of their answers to relationship and lifestyle questions. What's more, the service offered by Positives Dating is safe and 100% anonymous, guaranteed.

Although Positives Dating does have a lot to offer users, we did notice a few services that are notably missing from the site (and it is these omissions that set this site apart from those higher in our reviews). We were disappointed that the site did not feature chat rooms or forums, as we definitely think they have a positive impact on the feeling of community on a dating site. We also missed a live chat function, which is becoming increasingly more common on dating sites, and really benefits users. Specifically for STD dating sites such as this one, we were also a little disappointed to note that there were no medical articles, STD hints and tips or other such medical advice, because we feel that this is a worthwhile addition on a site that offers dating services for those with STDs.

While Positives Dating does have a great deal to offer those daters who are HIV+, we did think it was lacking in a number of potentially useful features. At almost $120 for a year's membership, we did think that it was a little expensive too.
